WHO CAN RENT A MAILBOX ?

Any one (Adult) in the United States can rent a mail box with a Los Angeles address by completing the necessary paperwork as required by the United States Postal Service.

WHY RENT A MAILBOX ?

The private mailbox store receives your mail at their facility and holds it for pick up by you at a time which is convenient to you providing high security and convenience.

WHY NOT A P.O. BOX AT THE POST OFFICE ?

The post office provides similar service at a relatively low price.  However, the post office P.O. Box is not for every one.  Please check out the following features when deciding where to rent.

  • The post office provides a P.O Box address whereas the private mailbox store provides a street address.

  • The Post Office will receive only the U.S. mail.  The Post Office will not accept your packages coming via any other shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx etc) or Courier service etc.

  • You cannot call the post office to check mail which sometimes can lead to an un-necessary trip.

  • Not all post offices provide 24/7 access to their mailboxes.  Where 24 hour access is provided, it is insecure and is prone to vandalism.

HOW DO WE HANDLE LARGE PACKAGES WHICH WILL NOT FIT THE MAILBOX ?

The customer will receive all packages regardless of the size of the incoming packages.  Large packages are held in the back room and a message is placed in the mailbox with information about the package and the carrier.  Some boxes can be accommodated in the Parcel Locker Boxes which can be collected by the box holders themselves 24 hours.

HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN I BECOME DUE IN RENT ?

A bill is placed in your mailbox 2 weeks before you become due for renewal.

Mailbox customer may request the bill to be sent to another billing address.

All renewals are due on the first day of the month closest to your date of rent.

What happens if a customer fails to pay the renewal bill by due date ?

The mailbox customer can pay by the 5th of the due month.  After the 5th, a late fee will be assessed.  If payment is not received by the 15th of the month, the mail be placed on hold.  If payment is not received by the 5th of the next month, another late fee will be assessed.  By the end of the second month, your mailbox may be closed and all mail sent back to the addressee.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE MAIL WHEN A MAILBOX IS CLOSED ?

When a mailbox is closed, the USPS regulations do not  allow a change of address to be placed with the post office.

The customer must therefore make arrangements with the mailbox store to receive his mail which may come after the mailbox is closed.  The customer must pay for such services otherwise the mail will be handled per postal regulations.
